Walgreens & United Airlines
You have probably all flown through O’Hare Airport at some time and noted the huge presence of United Airlines there, it is a primary United hub. Now, the more than 10,000 United employees will have access to an on-site clinic at the airport, managed by Walgreen. You might call this a “sweet spot” for Walgreen in light of the fact that their own base of operations is Deerfield. This will expand the Walgreen’s employer on-site count to more than 370 (in addition to the 355 they operate in stores).
We were contacted by the Crain’s author of the piece (Brigid Sweeney) and noted what a huge change this will be in the United benefit program. Larry Boress of the Midwest Business Group likewise commented in the article about the advantages to United; among them the opportunity to save money on lost time for physician appointments, reduction in hospital admissions and ER visits, etc.
