Take Care Health Systems Now Offers Telemedicine Services to BCBSNC Employees

Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina, Walgreens and American Well have developed a system for offering telehealth services to  BCBSNC employees and dependents at home or at work.  The services will include consultations with nurse practitioners, nutritionists and health coaches.  The robust system which Take Care has developed will allow the consultations to be incorporated in the employee’s primary medical record.

Telemedicine is rapidly evolving and certainly can assist employers in providing high quality services in remote locations or where the employee population is small.  Contracting for on-site services in these areas can be difficult, but telemedicine could be a step towards solving this problem.  Other vendors, including QuadMed have found this to be the case.
