Discovery Channel Office In London Opens On-Site Clinic

In England, where the National Health Service is available to everyone, the Discovery Channel has opened a “medical and wellbeing centre” which will include physical therapy, onsite lab services, and “holistic primary and preventative healthcare.”  This will be staffed and managed through a company called Nuffield Health, which already offers corporate health services at a central location in the city.

This is the first instance we have come across where an onsite service is being provided in a country where healthcare in general is nationalized.  In the article, Ms. Girdwood, the manager of personnel for Discovery, was quoted as saying, “We believe that when you are healthy and happy, you will naturally excel at work.”
