Mental Health Services by Phone?

You can get just about anything by phone/video for your employees, why not mental health?  Well, MYnd Analytics announced that they have just created a site in Florida where mental health services are provided through the use of telemedicine.  This is being done at Bayside Health and Rehabilitation (a nursing home in Florida), but who is to say that this couldn’t be a new service you could provide to your employees through the auspices of your onsite clinic?  Their CEO, Robert Plotkin, stated in the news report that “Our telebehavioral health services are ideally suited for patients within both skilled nursing and assisted living centers, as this population often lacks access to mental health services due to both a shortage of mental health providers, as well as the difficulty the elderly and disabled often face traveling to appointments.”  Your employees oftentimes face those same barriers.  Identifying the staff who need services and providing them isn’t easy but if high quality services could be provided with little inconvenience or lost work time to employees, who knows what the ROI could be – and not just in dollars and cents.

MYnd Analytics doesn’t indicate it has any plans to work directly with employers, but this type of service could be the next best way to help your employees who have mental health issues.
