CHS and St. Vincent’s HealthCare Team Up

It was announced this week that St. Vincent’s HealthCare in Jacksonville, Florida, is working with Comprehensive Health Services to offer employee services to large employers in the area through a network of providers, on-site clinics, and other services.  St. Vincent’s will obviously provide the inpatient component of services and apparently intends to coordinate specialty services through defined networks.   CHS is a well-established, major vendor of on-site services and will make an excellent partner for St. Vincent’s in this offering.  We’ll wait to hear about the impact on the community in the months (and years) ahead.  Of note, Florida is a hot bed of activity in the on-site industry, with many governmental units choosing this solution to their rising health care costs.

St. Vincent’s has four major delivery sites and is a member of the Ascension Healthcare System, based in St. Louis.  Ascension has been a leader in the development of joint ventures with vendor groups.  They have another relationship similar to the one reported here in the Indianapolis region with their flagship hospital and NovaMed (reported in this space some months ago).
